Urge Sojourn Project to Reconsider Discovery Cove Ties

UN LAB Middleware Label: Title Ends

At Discovery Cove in Orlando, Florida, highly intelligent and social dolphins are confined to artificial lagoons and forced into dangerous hands-on encounters with the public. Despite growing public opposition to imprisoning these animals, Sojourn Project is including Discovery Cove in its Celebrity Weekend event itinerary, thereby lending its support to dolphin exploitation.

Discovery Cove is owned and operated by the same company that owns SeaWorld, where more than 40 orcas and over 500 other dolphins and whales have died, many prematurely. Discovery Cove forced Dixie, a repeat victim of its cruel breeding program, to endure a traumatic stillbirth without proper veterinary care, and Scarlet died after her uterus ruptured during pregnancy, killing her and her unborn calf. Surviving dolphins are doomed to a lifetime of deprivation and repeatedly touched, grabbed, and held onto by strangers with no way to escape during risky swim-with-dolphins encounters.

An overwhelming 92% of Americans say dolphins belong in the ocean, not in tanks, and 80% support releasing captive dolphins from marine parks and resorts when possible, or sending them to seaside sanctuaries. Please use the form below to urge Sojourn Project to reconsider including Discovery Cove in future Celebrity Weekend itineraries.
