NIA plans to torment marmosets in cruel Alzheimer's disease experiments
The National Institute on Aging (NIA) is planning to use sensitive marmoset monkeys in invasive Alzheimer's disease experiments. Humans are the only species that develops the disease, so experimenters use a variety of cruel means to mimic some of the disease's symptoms in animals, such as depriving their brains of oxygen, injecting toxins into them, and inducing strokes—but they're not actually studying Alzheimer's. No new drugs have been developed that can cure or even slow the progression of Alzheimer's disease, yet NIA is willing to toss good money after bad by financing cruel testing anyway.
Please help to end this cruelty by clicking on the link below and urging NIA to stop funding these barbaric experiments, which have no application to human health.
