Get a Good Night's Sleep by Asking Marriott to Ban Wild-Animal Displays

UN LAB Middleware Label: Title Ends

Want to get a good night's sleep? Ask Marriott to stop allowing wild-animal displays at its hotels.

While Marriott claims to be "committed to raising the standard of animal welfare," its policy still allows elephants, big cats like pumas, and other wild animals to be used in weddings and other events at its resorts.

Training these animals involves the use of violence and deprivation and typically begins when they're forcibly separated from their mothers as babies. They're carted around in trailers and chained up or caged for hours or days on end.

Pumas are the largest cats capable of purring as adults, and elephants have been observed entertaining themselves through humor. Exploiting these wonderful individuals for entertainment denies them everything that makes their lives meaningful, and it's a form of speciesism—a human-supremacist viewpoint.

Please ask Marriott to stop allowing wild-animal displays at its hotels.
