Despite Orca Deaths, Jason Derulo Plans to Perform at SeaWorld—Take Action!

UN LAB Middleware Label: Title Ends

More than 40 orcas have already died at SeaWorld—many far short of their natural life expectancy—and 18 others are still suffering at the parks. Yet Jason Derulo is planning to perform at SeaWorld Orlando’s Seven Seas Food Festival in Florida.

In nature, orcas, bottlenose dolphins, and beluga whales maintain dynamic relationships in large social networks and swim free in the ocean. While most of the world is waking up to the fact that orcas at SeaWorld go insane from stress and loneliness in cramped concrete tanks and that other dolphins and whales are still being forcibly bred—sometimes after being drugged—artists who support the cruel company help it profit from its speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview.

Many major artists—including Barenaked Ladies, Cheap Trick, Willie Nelson, and Trisha Yearwood—have canceled their performances at the abusement park. Please contact Derulo and urge him to follow the lead of other compassionate performers who have chosen not to associate with SeaWorld.
