Despite Orca Deaths, These Artists Plan to Perform at SeaWorld—Take Action!

UN LAB Middleware Label: Title Ends

More than 40 orcas have already died at SeaWorld—many far short of their natural life expectancy—and 20 orcas are still suffering at the parks. Yet Jesse McCartney, Jeremy Camp, Kansas, and other artists still plan to perform at SeaWorld Orlando’s Seven Seas Food Festival in Florida.

In nature, orcas, bottlenose dolphins, and whales maintain dynamic relationships in large social networks and swim free in the ocean. While most of the world is waking up to the fact that the orcas at SeaWorld go insane from stress and loneliness in cramped concrete tanks and that other dolphins and whales are still being forcibly bred—sometimes after being drugged—these artists are helping to boost the cruel company in an act of speciesism, a human-supremacist worldview.

Many major artists—including the Barenaked Ladies, Cheap Trick, Martina McBride, Willie Nelson, REO Speedwagon, and Trisha Yearwood—have canceled their performances at the abusement park. Please contact the artists and urge them to follow the lead of other compassionate artists who have chosen not to associate with SeaWorld
