Carden Circus Exploits Animals—You Can Help Stop This

UN LAB Middleware Label: Title Ends

While talented tightrope walkers, trapeze artists, contortionists, acrobats, fire-eaters, and others wow audiences with dazzling performances in thriving, human-only circuses, Carden Circus is still exploiting bison, zebras, camels, and other animals.

Carden Circus is one of several similarly named companies, all run by members of one notorious family that has a lengthy history of citations for violating the federal Animal Welfare Act, such as for keeping tigers in tiny cages for nearly 24 hours and failing to provide adequate veterinary care to elderly elephants with cracked toenails and apparent arthritis. While Carden has taken elephants Betty, Janice, Vickie, and Cindy off the road for circuses, they are still being exploited for “encounters” at a shady roadside zoo.

Meanwhile, many other animals are still forced to travel for months at a time, perform under threat of whips, and give rides to the public at circuses across the country. In 2021, an elephant named Bo, who had long been exploited by the Carden family, was retired to a sanctuary in Georgia. He now has the opportunity to roam, forage, and explore a naturalistic habitat. The remaining animals deserve to live out their lives in peace, too.

Although the world is changing around it, Carden Circus continues to force animals to perform confusing and often painful tricks. Please urge it to nix its cruel acts and send the animals to reputable facilities.
