Michigan Residents: Protect Cats From Invasive Declawing!

UN LAB Middleware Label: Title Ends

Recognizing the trauma caused to cats by declawing, Michigan legislators have wisely introduced House Bill 5508, which, if passed, would prohibit declawing cats unless medically necessary. Declawing is an invasive, painful, and usually unnecessary mutilation that involves 10 amputations of their joints. Its long-term effects include skin and bladder problems and the gradual weakening of cats' legs, shoulders, and back muscles. It has been banned in parts of Europe, and many veterinarians in the U.S. refuse to perform this traumatic surgery. HB 5508 currently awaits a hearing in the House Agriculture Committee, so your help is urgently needed!

declawing is like cutting off a person's fingers at the first knuckle.

Using the form below, please urge your state legislators to vote YES on HB 5508 should it come before them for a vote.
