Korean Air and EVA Air Support the Suffering of Live Fish—Stop Them!
I was shocked to learn about the cruelty involved in transporting live betta fish to pet stores in the U.S. These fish are bred in crowded, filthy conditions on farms in Thailand and other Southeast Asian countries and then dumped onto a plastic tray for sorting while they gasp for air.
Their transportation to the U.S. can take several days, during which time they’re confined to small plastic bags with no food and hardly enough water to cover their bodies. Many of them die during the journey, and the survivors are sold in stores such as Petco, where their complex needs are routinely neglected.
Korean Air and EVA Air can help end this cruel cycle by refusing to transport live bettas from farms to pet stores. Please click the link below and join me in urging EVA Air to stop this practice immediately.
