True Outliers is making misleading claims that the fur it sells is “ethically sourced”—even though all fur comes from animals who die horribly. Urge it to drop fur today!
Minks are shy, solitary animals who thrive in a vast habitat, foraging, climbing, and swimming. But as PETA exposés show, minks and the vast majority of other animals killed for their fur spend their entire lives in cramped cages, where they frantically pace back and forth, gnaw on the cage bars, and even resort to self-mutilation. At the end of their short, miserable lives, workers gas, bludgeon, electrocute, or kill them in some other violent way. Some animals are still alive when they’re skinned.
Filthy fur farms have also led to outbreaks of COVID-19, and virologists and epidemiologists confirm that cramming sick, stressed animals together in unsanitary conditions creates the perfect breeding ground for dangerous zoonotic diseases.
Even though many other stores and designers—including Patagonia, Canada Goose, The North Face, Columbia Sportswear, and Helly Hansen—have already gone fur-free, True Outliers has refused to enact a fur-free policy.
