Exposed: PetSmart Is Selling Real Fur!

UN LAB Middleware Label: Title Ends

PETA has confirmed that PetSmart is selling cat toys made of real rabbit or hare fur. After hearing from us, the company stopped selling the product, Whisker City Furry Mice Cat Toys, at stores in California, where its sales appeared to violate the state’s fur ban. Now, we need your help to ensure that PetSmart drops fur sales throughout the country!

Rabbits and hares are socially complex, intelligent animals with unique personalities, just like cats and dogs. But right now, they’re suffering on fur farms all over the world. Every fur farm that PETA Asia has visited in China—where the cat toys in question are made—has been extremely cruel. A look inside three massive rabbit fur farms and slaughterhouses in that country showed rabbits forced to live in cramped, filthy cages before finally being strung up and skinned—sometimes while they were still alive. Workers left rabbits to struggle and thrash wildly after smacking them on the head with the back of a knife, hanging them upside down, and slitting their throats.

A company that claims to care about animals shouldn’t be selling live animals or products made with their fur. Please urge PetSmart to act without delay.
