The Los Angeles City Council is considering a lifesaving piece of legislation, Council File 20-1575, that would keep rodeos out of the city. It’s crucial that you urge your council member to support it without delay.

In order to guarantee that cows will “perform” as expected by the paying public during rodeos, they’re zapped with electric-shock devices so that they’ll charge out of a chute. Calves’ necks are twisted as the animals are slammed to the ground, and horses are viciously spurred into bucking. During rodeos, animals have often sustained broken ribs, backs, or legs; punctured lungs; deep internal organ bruising; hemorrhaging; ripped tendons; torn ligaments and muscles; and snapped necks. Many have died.
Please take action now by urging your city council member to support Council File 20-1575, which would keep rodeos out of Los Angeles.
