Ask the California Fish and Game Commission to End Trapping and Gassing of Coyotes!

UN LAB Middleware Label: Title Ends

On Wednesday, June 19, the California Fish and Game Commission is scheduled to consider a petition for rulemaking from PETA calling for regulations that ban gassing coyotes to death and prohibit California cities from contracting with private trappers who trap and kill these animals on public land. Many cities in Southern California and throughout the U.S. have created resoundingly successful coyote management plans using non-lethal practices, and they have significantly decreased human-coyote conflicts. But in defiance of accepted research and the recommendations of experts, some municipalities in Southern California, including Anaheim, Rancho Palos Verdes, and Torrance, have contracted with a private trapper—Jimmie Rizzo of Coyote, Wildlife & Pest Solutions Inc.—who uses a gas chamber in the back of his truck to kill coyotes and has repeatedly self-reported setting snare traps near dozens of homes in possible violation of state law.

Please contact the commission and ask it to put a stop to these cruel and ineffective lethal methods, which cause immense suffering and terror.
