Urge Brad Pitt’s Cashmere Company to Switch to Vegan Cashmere!

UN LAB Middleware Label: Title Ends

Update (August 1, 2024): In response to PETA’s cease and desist letter, Brad Pitt’s company God’s True Cashmere has now removed misleading language saying that its products are “responsibly sourced.” All cashmere comes from goats whose hair is violently stolen from them, after which they’re slaughtered—so please join PETA in urging God’s True Cashmere to switch to vegan materials without delay!

Original post:

After hearing from PETA, including receiving a cease and desist letter from us, Brad Pitt’s God’s True Cashmere has stopped claiming that its products are “lovingly crafted” for the benefit of “[goats’] well-being” and no longer touts that its suppliers are certified by the “Responsible Wool Standard”—which doesn’t even cover cashmere production.

PETA Asia’s investigation into the cashmere industry in Mongolia exposed the truth behind “sustainable” and “responsible” cashmere labels. Regardless of branding or “humane” claims, all cashmere comes from goats whose hair was violently stolen from them. Workers pinned down the gentle animals, twisted their sensitive legs, and ripped out their hair with sharp, rake-like metal combs. When goats used for cashmere are no longer considered profitable, they’re sent to the slaughterhouse. There, workers hit them on the head with hammers—or may even fail to stun them at all—before slitting their throats. Many goats continue to move for minutes after their throats are cut.

Please join PETA in urging God’s True Cashmere to switch to vegan cashmere!
