Officials in Torrance, California, Vote to Kill Coyotes—Speak Out Now!

UN LAB Middleware Label: Title Ends

Updated on November 30, 2018: The Torrance City Council voted to implement a deadly coyote-trapping program despite overwhelming evidence that education, repellents, and the strict prohibition of wildlife feeding are the only proven long-term wildlife-management solutions. Please contact Mayor Patrick J. Furey and the other members of the city council by using the form below.

Compassionate residents of Torrance, California, are howling mad after learning that at least seven coyotes have been trapped and killed in the city since August 2018. Torrance plans to share its coyote-management plan at the City Council meeting on November 27, and we need your help to make sure that it includes only effective, humane methods.

Not only are lethal initiatives such as trapping ineffective at controlling coyote populations, they're also extremely stressful for any wild species. Killing also tears wild families apart, leaving orphaned young to starve, and traps endanger companion animals and protected wildlife. PETA apprised city officials of the cruelty and futility of lethal methods as well as providing them with details regarding humane coyote control—and now, it's your turn.

Please contact Torrance Mayor Patrick J. Furey and the Torrance City Council and politely urge them not to squander taxpayer dollars on cruel and short-sighted coyote trapping and to commit to humane wildlife-management methods.
