Kids and Cows Need Your Help—Urge Lawmakers to Support the FISCAL Act

UN LAB Middleware Label: Title Ends

Every day in school cafeterias across the country, millions of kids are forced to take a carton of cow’s milk with their lunch, whether they want it or not. Many cannot digest lactose, and drinking cow’s milk can lead to discomfort, pain, or even serious health issues. Others avoid it for ethical, cultural, or environmental reasons. Yet under current policy, students participating in the school lunch program must take cow’s milk unless a parent or guardian submits a formal and advanced request for an alternative.

The Freedom in School Cafeteria and Lunches Act, or FISCAL Act (H.R. 2539/S. 1236), would change this. This bill would require schools to offer a nutritious, plant-based milk alternative to all students at no additional cost without requiring special documentation. This would allow every child to make a choice that respects their health, the environment, and the lives of animals.

Please use the form below to urge your legislators to support the FISCAL Act and help bring a compassionate, common-sense change to our schools.
