For years, Dexter Osborn has exploited bears in a cruel and dangerous traveling act called A Grizzly Experience, which appears at fairs and other events across the country. A bear once escaped from Osborn and wasn’t found for three days, while another clawed a handler’s face in front of frightened spectators at a fair. After campaigning by PETA and our supporters, Osborn took the bears off the road and didn’t exhibit them for several years, but he recently resurfaced on social media where he’s engaging in exploitative and dangerous stunts, and now he’s resumed hauling them across the country to force them to perform at county fairs. We need your help to urge him to relinquish the animals to reputable sanctuaries.
Osborn recently let social media influencer MrBeast use a bear for a stupid, dangerous stunt, in which a blindfolded MrBeast had direct contact with an adult brown bear. In another video, Osborn spits into a bear’s mouth—a demeaning act that showcases a complete disrespect for these magnificent animals.
Bears are complex, far-ranging animals who require opportunities to roam, swim, forage, and choose their own companions—not props to use for “likes” on social media or laughs at a county fair. Tell Dexter Osborn to retire these bears and other wild animals to reputable sanctuaries immediately.
