Quince is misleading consumers—again! The lifestyle brand is selling cashmere and sheepskin with misleading claims that those products are “ethical.” But investigative footage from PETA entities shows that sourcing from living beings always causes suffering.
Multiple investigations into the cashmere and sheepskin industries—including on so-called “humane” farms—have revealed severe cruelty to goats and sheep. Goats used for cashmere—including disingenuously labeled “responsible” cashmere—are pinned down as workers rip out their hair with sharp metal combs, leaving them screaming. Sheep and lambs used for sheepskin endure painful mutilations—including having their tails cut off without pain relief—rough handling, and shearing.
When these animals are no longer profitable, they are typically slaughtered. Workers have been documented hitting goats on the head with hammers in an attempt to stun them. Goats and sheep in these industries often have their throats slit while they’re still conscious.
Quince has a history of misleading customers to sell products made from animals. In 2023, the lifestyle brand removed deceptive language from their marketing materials, but now they’ve added additional misleading language!
No matter the source, cashmere and sheepskin always come from suffering.
Please, join PETA in urging Quince’s CEO to stop misleading customers immediately and end the sales of cashmere and sheepskin.
