Angora Hurts Rabbits: Urge Max Mara Fashion Group to Drop It

UN LAB Middleware Label: Title Ends

In 2024, Max Mara Fashion Group announced it had banned “fur” from its collections, yet it inexplicably continues to sell angora—rabbit hair taken from gentle rabbits who endure extreme cruelty. Just like fur, angora is always the product of tremendous cruelty, and it's time for Max Mara Fashion Group to recognize the horrors and extend the same compassion to angora rabbits. Most people never see what happens behind the scenes, but the reality is devastating: rabbits are handled like objects rather than living beings. Workers often restrain them and rip out their hair as the animals scream. When they’re not being plucked, they’re kept in filthy cages so small they can barely move.

This cycle repeats every few months. Each time, the rabbits are left trembling and exhausted, often with open wounds. Eventually, they are hung upside down and have their throats slit.

Thankfully, hundreds of major brands have already banned angora because they recognize that no trend is worth this level of suffering. Max Mara Fashion Group is falling behind, and consumers are paying attention.

Your voice can help push the company to make the compassionate choice. Use the form below to urge the company to stop selling angora.
