Big Cat Public Safety Act is UNDER ATTACK: Act Now to Preserve Big Cat Protections

UN LAB Middleware Label: Title Ends

At the end of 2022, history was made when Congress passed the Big Cat Public Safety Act (BCPSA). This law was designed to protect big cats like lions, tigers, leopards, jaguars, and cougars and the public from the dangers associated with private ownership of big cats and hands-on encounters with them. The law effectively ended big cat cub petting in the U.S. Now, roadside zoo owners and traveling wild animal acts are pushing Congress to undo these important protections for big cats. We need people to speak up to keep these protections in place!

H.R. 7159 would undermine several important protections in the BCPSA, re-opening the door to cub-petting, allowing animal dealers to breed and sell big cats, and authorizing the import and export of big cats to and from foreign entities. Bottom line: This bill is a disaster for big cats and would destroy some of the BCPSA’s most important provisions.

Animal exploiters want to roll back the BCPSA at the expense of animal welfare and public safety. Please use the form below to send a message to your representatives, asking them to vote NO on H.R. 7159 and maintain the integrity of the Big Cat Public Safety Act!
