Help Free the Dolphins From These Marine Parks

UN LAB Middleware Label: Title Ends

Marine parks across the U.S. continue to confine dolphins for entertainment, even though these animals often suffer from stress, disease, health issues, and behavioral abnormalities. No concrete tank or makeshift lagoon can provide for the complex physical and psychological needs of these intelligent, social animals who should be free to romp through the seas, not forced to perform or interact with humans.

The world is turning away from this cruelty. Canada and France have banned all cetacean captivity, Mexico passed a bill that bans dolphin breeding, performances, and confinement to concrete tanks, and the Miami Seaquarium shut down after more than 50 years of imprisoning animals. Yet marine parks in the U.S. still promote a cruel and archaic spectacle masquerading as “entertainment.” Some of these parks abducted dolphins from their ocean homes decades ago, while others use dolphins as breeding machines, sometimes through forced artificial insemination.

It’s time for these parks to end the torment by committing to not breeding dolphins and evaluating them for release into the ocean. Those who cannot be released must be relocated to seaside sanctuaries where they can live in large areas of the ocean while still receiving necessary care.

Please use the form below to urge these U.S. marine parks to free the dolphins!
