Herbal supplement company, VIVAZEN, is putting its money behind a race that kills dogs: the notoriously cruel Iditarod. The Iditarod forces dogs to run up to 100 miles a day through freezing temperatures, blinding snowstorms, and punishing terrain. Each year, up to half of the dogs are pulled from the race because they become too ill, injured, or exhausted to continue. During the 2025 event, a pregnant dog named Ventana was pushed to run more than 300 miles before collapsing and dying on the trail.

Off the trail, the cruelty continues. Dogs used in the Iditarod are typically kept chained outside in all weather extremes, confined to only a few feet of movement without stimulation, comfort, or warmth. Those deemed unfit for racing have reportedly been shot, bludgeoned, or abandoned to starve. After learning about this cruelty, nearly every major sponsor—including Alaska Airlines, Chrysler, Coca Cola, ExxonMobil, Jack Daniel’s, Millennium Hotels & Resorts, State Farm, Panasonic, and Wells Fargo—has cut ties with the deadly race.
In most Iditarod races, at least one dog has died—an average of three deaths per year. How many will die while VIVAZEN is funding the race? Please use the form below to urge VIVAZEN to reconsider its future association with the cruel Iditarod.
