Tell Fleet Farm to Ditch Glue Traps!

UN LAB Middleware Label: Title Ends

Fleet Farm—a retailer with dozens of stores in four states—is selling vile glue traps. Despite learning that small animals mired in the glue often suffer for days and go to great lengths to free themselves—including chewing off their own limbs—it won't stop selling them.

Glue traps are some of the cruelest rodent-control devices on the market, causing immense and prolonged suffering. Victims often rip off their fur, feathers, and flesh in their frantic struggles to escape the sticky mess. Exhausted and terrified, they succumb to shock, dehydration, asphyxiation, or blood loss—and death can take days. Nontarget animals, such as kittens, squirrels, chipmunks, and even birds—including protected species—can also fall prey to these devices. Furthermore, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) warns against using them because of the disease risks posed by the many pathogens in the urine and feces of the stressed rodents.

PETA informed Fleet Farm of the cruelty of—and public shift away from—glue traps, yet it refuses to stop selling them. Please contact the company and ask that it stop selling glue traps. And please, share this alert with everyone you know.
