The New York Philharmonic is planning to conclude its outdoor Concerts in the Parks (June 9–12) with fireworks, which are known to terrify dogs and cats, harm wildlife, and distress people with PTSD.

Animal shelters consistently report a spike in lost, frightened, and runaway dogs and cats following fireworks displays. Companion animals often panic and try to escape the loud blasts, with many becoming lost or injured. Birds and other wildlife can be disoriented, leading to deadly collisions or exhaustion. Fireworks also release toxic chemicals into the air and the environment.
Ask the Philharmonic to protect animals by switching to humane alternatives, such as dazzling drone or light shows.
