Animal Advocates in Action

Dear Friend,

As the leaves fell, PETA supporters were rising up against animal exploitation! Don’t miss these highlights from our protests. To everyone who participated in one of our head-turning demos—thank you! If you have yet to join us, we hope to see you soon.

Check out the highlights from some of our recent actions below:

Coach Confronted With a Bloody Display

All across the country activists sounded the alarm at Coach for Free the Animals Friday! We made sure to let everyone know Coach is responsible for horrific animal abuse and destruction of the environment by selling leather. Just a couple weeks before, PETA supporters swarmed the lobby of Coach Headquarters during the virtual shareholder meeting with megaphones, whistles, and paint markers.

Shriners Face PETA’s Massive Elephant Prop Over Circus Cruelty

While tailing the Sharon Shrine circus across east Texas, PETA displayed a 20-foot-tall tear-stained inflatable elephant covered in gashes and chained to a sign reading, “Elephants Beaten and Chained for Shrine Circuses.” As cars rolled past our miserable elephant at every stop, our PETA supporters distributed hundreds of leaflets and booklets for children to color to inform all attendees about animal abuse at the Sharon Shrine circus.

Praying to End Bullfighting!

Image of demonstrators outside a church praying to stop bullfighting.

PETA supporters gathered outside the Cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston and the Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Newark, calling on the church to honor Saint Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals, on his feast day by publicly condemning bullfighting. With activists kneeling in a heartfelt plea, the message was clear: it's time for the church to follow the compassionate spirit of St. Francis and take a stand against this violent, archaic spectacle. We spoke with priests, nuns, and attendees who agreed that all animals deserve to live free from harm and assured us they would speak with church officials to convey our message.

“Pigs” Arrested for Disrupting an ASPCA and HSUS Event

Image of activists outside ASPCA ball.

PETA ambushed the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals’ (ASPCA) Annual Humane Awards Luncheon and the HSUS To The Rescue Gala to condemn the groups for endorsing deceptive welfare certifications by remaining on the Board of the Global Animal Partnership (GAP) and propping up meat, dairy, and egg factory farms. Near the end of our protests, the energy surged as our costumed "pigs" were escorted by police and arrested.

Moms Arrested for Taking Action for Cows!

Dozens of PETA supporters took action in solidarity with mother cows at the inaugural “Every Woman’s Marathon” and Wellness Fair & Expo, as the race is ostensibly about “supporting women” but is sponsored by the disgusting dairy industry. A group of moms were dragged from the scene, and two of them were cuffed, although they were ultimately released without filing charges. We got great media coverage from the local NBC, CBS affiliates, and Savannah Now published an article about the race that mentioned our disruption.

Hell on Wheels Turkey Truck Steered the Wheel Toward Kindness!

We launched our new Hell on Wheels turkey truck ahead of Thanksgiving to great success! At our first stop in Santa Barbara we had a ton of press including an interview with a local Santa Barbara media outlet. Many consumers at local grocery stores expressed shock and concern when confronted with the images and realistic sounds, asking if there were actual turkeys inside! We plan to hit 30 states in the next two months as the turkey truck makes its way across the US.

Whether you are brand-new to activism and have never attended a protest or have been protesting for 20 years or more, we want to see you out there with us fighting for animal rights! Everyone is welcome.
