Today, we are celebrating PETA’s 46th birthday and decades of progress toward animal liberation. But many pigs in the meat industry never even reach their first birthday. Here are just a few of the horrific visuals we exposed at East Fork Farms—a hellish pig factory in Indiana:

• Caged mothers watching as maimed or deformed piglets writhed just beyond their reach

• Piglets dying in maggot-infested filth or nearly drowning in a pit of feces and urine after falling through broken flooring

• A worker mutilating baby pigs without pain relief, cutting off their tails as they cried for their mothers, and then throwing them across the room to another worker
