PETA has discovered that Mondelēz International, maker of the popular Oreo cookies, paid experimenters to force-feed human feces to mice before killing them in gruesome tests.
After hearing from PETA in 2018, the company instituted a limited animal testing ban for its products and ingredients, leaving a big loophole by saying that it would “only engage in Animal Testing … when it is needed to advance fundamental knowledge in nutritional science.” Meanwhile, it tries to mislead the public by saying that it “do[es] not test [its] products on animals.”
Don’t be fooled! Mondelēz has been bankrolling many cruel and pointless “nutritional science” experiments on animals that are irrelevant to human health. Mondelēz-funded experimenters have tormented countless animals, including by doing the following:
- Force-feeding mice feces from obese women and a diet high in saturated fat, then killing them
- Force-feeding human feces to mice, feeding them a chemical and a diet high in saturated fat, then killing and dissecting them
- Force-feeding human feces and glass beads to mice and feeding them a diet high in saturated fat
- Feeding rats a mixture of chips, crackers, and candies; force-feeding them glucose; and repeatedly taking their blood
Mondelēz can correct this by joining PETA’s revolutionary Eat Without Experiments program, which makes it easy for consumers to see which food and beverage companies do or do not test on animals. We won’t rest until the company agrees to end its cruel experiments on mice and other animals.
Please urge Mondelēz International to stop testing on animals and join PETA’s Eat Without Experiments program.
