Tell Hyatt: There’s Nothing Hospitable About Dog Abuse

UN LAB Middleware Label: Title Ends

More than 150 dogs have died since the Iditarod dog-sled race’s inception. A dog named Charley died on the trail after being forced to run more than 800 miles during the 2026 race. The year prior, Ventana was only four years old and in a later stage of pregnancy when she collapsed and died. In 2024, three dogs were pushed so hard that their bodies broke down and they died on the trail. Help us tell Hyatt that you are dismayed to learn that they have signed on to support this cruelty by allowing its JdV by Hyatt Wildbirch Hotel to sponsor and promote the race.

The Iditarod is a nightmarish ordeal for the dogs who are forced to run approximately 1,000 miles while pulling a heavy sled through biting winds, blinding snowstorms, freezing temperatures, and treacherous, icy terrain. These dogs are no different from those we share our homes with—they only want to live and enjoy loving companionship. Instead, survivors are sent back to barren yards, often with painful injuries and lasting ailments, where most will be chained to dilapidated wooden boxes or plastic barrels with just a few square feet in which to eat, sleep, and relieve themselves.

Please use the form below to urge Hyatt to reconsider its future ties with the cruel Iditarod.
