Dolphins Are Languishing at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom: Take Action

UN LAB Middleware Label: Title Ends

Dolphins at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in California are being denied everything that makes life meaningful to them. They should be roaming the ocean with their families, but instead they’re trapped in cramped concrete tanks, forced to perform tricks for crowds, and subjected to intrusive, hands-on encounters. They deserve far better than a lifetime spent circling the same barren spaces day in and day out. Help us tell the theme park that it’s time to empty the tanks!

In the park’s swim-with-dolphins encounters, the animals are repeatedly touched, grabbed, and held onto by strangers who have invaded the only space they’re given with no way to escape. This constant handling can cause stress, illness, and injury. During shows, they may be subjected to trainers standing on their faces and grabbing onto their fins. No reputable facility would ever allow these interactions.

Dolphins can swim up to 60 miles per day, and should be diving deep, exploring ever changing environments in a world rich with natural sounds, freedom of choice, and social interaction. Please urge Six Flags to commit to not breeding dolphins, evaluate the surviving dolphins for potential release into their ocean homes, and to send those not eligible for release to seaside sanctuaries.
